ज़िन्दगी

बहुत खूबसूरत है यह ज़िंदगानी ,
       एक बार गले इसे लगाकर तो देखो।
जिस सोच से जीने का नया नजरिया मिले,
       उस सोच को कभी आज़मा कर तो देखो।
ज़िन्दगी का हर रिश्ता ,
       इस जीवन की माला का इक फूल है,
प्यार से हर फूल को सींचकर ,
       माला को सुन्दर बना कर तो देखो।
हर इंसान तुम्हारे जीवन में,
       एक मक़सद से आता है,
उस इंसान की ख़ुशी को एक बार,
       जीवन का मक़सद बना कर तो देखो।
जिस माँ के आँचल में पलकर,
        तुम्हें प्यारा जीवनसाथी मिला है।
 उस आँचल का शुक्रिया कर के,
         उस आँचल को अपना बना कर तो देखो।
जिन लाखों मुश्किलों को सहकर,
        उसने तुम्हें अनमोल साथी दिया है;
अपनी एक सच्ची मुस्कान लुटाकर ,
        उसके चेहरे पर मुस्कान सजा कर तो देखो।
सब बेड़ियां कड़वाहट की खुल जाएंगी,
        ख़ुशनुमा जिंदगी लगने लग जायेगी।
एक बार उस माँ के प्यार से,
अपना प्यार मिला के तो देखो।

As you take the first look,
At the face so tender and naïve;
You are transformed to a different world,

One look at your smiling bundle,
and you are filled with pride and glee,

Any mother will surely agree.
You gently assure his searching eyes,
That you will be the best mother;
At the same time you promise yourself,

International Women's Day

A woman is the most special creation of God. She amazingly balances out her multitude of roles. A caring sister, a darling daughter, an adorable wife and a patient mother to her kids, all rolled into one. She can be the inspiration behind her daughter’s moral values or an invisible support for her husband’s infinite career aspirations.

She has the fantastic ability to multiplex various activities at the same time. She might be planning for dinner one moment. The next she is busy making rangoli with her kid. She might be as career oriented and professional, but immediately caters to a family need as and when needed.

She never regrets the career breaks taken to bring up her child and does’nt think twice before shifting to a new location if her husband finds a better career there. She has only one mantra “FAMILY FIRST”. So, on international women’s day, I take this opportunity to say Kudos to all the great women in the world, from Kiran Bedi to Kalpana chawla and many more unsung women of India whose unending efforts and sincerity are not even recognized.
